SIPs 201: Owner/Builder Workshop This workshop is a two day program that covers the many aspects of building your own home with SIPs. The course curriculum focuses on the integration of SIPs into a custom home construction project and is tailored to educate the inexperienced GC. In addition, instruction will cover many aspects of being your own general contractor. Classroom time is spent at either the Clarion Hotel and Conference Center in Shepherdstown or the Inn at Charles Town. We visit the SIPschool shop on the second day to allow students to see examples of different types of Structural Insulated Panels and review and discuss tools used in the SIP industry.. Tuition Cost: $500.00 for first student, $250.00 for each additional student from same company or project. SIPs 202 SIP Installation 3 Day Workshop This 3 day workshop is a hands-on introduction to Structural Insulated Panel installation. The classroom portion is roughly half of the three days, and covers details, connections, and sealing requirements. In the field, students will be given the opportunity to use a variety of tools as they construct various SIP structures. If you are familiar with SIPs but have yet to receive any practical hands on experience, this is the perfect class to introduce you to building with Structural Insulated Panels. Tuition Cost: $900 SIPs 301 Installation for SIP Professionals This workshop is a four day program that covers the entire process of installing SIPs This intensive hands-on class includes time spent in the classroom, shop, and the field erecting a complete SIP structure. The course is designed to increase not only your working knowledge of different manufacturers' specifications for installing SIPs, but also to demonstrate the proper means by which SIPs should be installed. Graduates of this class are recognized as members of an elite group of professionals dedicated to quality standards and their use within the industry.
